Reasons for Failure
1- You do not have enough experience, even if you do, you do not have enough money set aside to get you thru the initial start-up.
2- You have money but your personal skills and sales ability are lacking.
3- You have no idea how to price jobs.
4- You have no idea who your competition is, or how to work around or thru your competition.
5- You will get a cleaning contract, don't get me wrong, then you will focus so much on this one contract, you wont get another, then they will fire you, and you`ll be in a desperate situation working for peanuts, then you will be flat broke. (Probably lose your house or apartment and have to go live with family.)
6- You absolutely have no business experience. (but you can clean real good..)
7- You will shop around online looking for books that will make you the Ultimate Cleaning Service Owner
8- You wont get business insurance, bonding, or health insurance... thinking...... ahhhhhh i`m the luckiest person in the world (might as well call a family member now to see if a room is available)
9- Your terrible with money, and have no idea how to manage cash flow .. You enjoy the finer things in life, and wont make a sacrifice... (your doomed)
10- You have the internet and cable TV, and spend more time watching TV then learning about the business.
11- Thinking to yourself , I don`t need a website for a cleaning service , or better yet lets see should i pay the utility bill this month or get a website
12-I have to read stuff ........Training?
Who needs training to clean toilets and floors (Bankruptcy is almost here, get yourself prepared)
13- You have a hard time managing a schedule, lots of family commitments, this is not for you.
14- You do not deal well with the public. (Probably not your cup of tea here.)
15- Do not understand local advertising, let alone online advertising ( I think you might have a distant cousin that has a spare room for you, if you start this business. )
Hopefully more to come later, you probably wont read them though. By this time you will have made your first $3000 purchase for cleaning equipment, when you do not even have a customer to clean for. (Internet company will be shutting down your service soon)
