I did not expect to be doing this yet. So SURPRISE SURPRISE SURPRISE, I am a do things decently and in order person, I was dong my construction sales and along came the vice president of one of our largest banks. And I have a really good chance of getting it ( I am doing his house, he knows my husband very well) But I have no idea how to charge, is it sq ft, or by the time I think it will take, (boy for newbies that is dangerous) This could be 2 branches in my town or he is the regional VP, I have the form to use, and a professional folder that looks pretty good. Any ideas Will help. If this helps the going rate for construction in my area is 12 cents sq ft. I am having no prob at 13 cents with all my insurance and being a company. THANKS Janice

We clean a small hometown bank and one small branch. Five nights week . Total hours to do job is 14 hours a week. They supply everything but labor. We charge $1200.00 month. That equals about $19.78 hour. We also get all holidays paid. Which are plenty for Banks.

Thank you I would have never thought of holiday pay. Did you submit two bids, one where they supply everything and one you supply everything. Thanks for the help, Oh one more thing did you figure by the hour? Janice

i always bid on properties under 50,000 square feet by the hour and for anything over 50,000 square feet i charge by the square foot. when we are initially talking to the new clients we ask if they want paper products included in the bid or not and include a clause that product prices may vary. we always include chemicals, equiptment and materials for regular janitorial services and charge for then only in specialized cleaning like refinishing floors and things of that nature.

I did estimate hours and came up with price at $22.00 hour. I was off a little. I always try to have any office we clean to supply cleaning materials. It is a lot simpler and I don't have to worry about another bill to pay. I also know exactly what my cost are going to be for each month. Thats just my way of bidding it. I'm sure there are several other ways that work well also. If they do ask me to bid suppling products I estimate them and add a little extra just in case. You never know how much tissue and soap will be stolen from restrooms. Or for that matter right out of supply closets. I have seen this a lot over the years.
