I often tell myself before meeting a potential large client that they where born same as I was born; they have to get up and put their pants on same as I do ; they are no different then myself and they to will surely pay taxes and die same as I do and will. If I can get this in my mind them it puts them on the same level as I am. It seems to work for me. Sometimes though when I stand in front of a group I still get the jitters, guess that is an average normal thing that we humans for the most part live with.

I think a lot of people have this problem. I know I still do, to a point. The more people you talk to, the more comfortable you will be selling your services. Remember that you are selling something that nobody else can sell. Nobody knows your product better than you. That's because your product IS you. You know how to clean. Now go tell everyone how well and tell them why they should choose you for their cleaning. The more people you tell, the easier it will get.

It is okay to be shy, but if you practice and practice janitorial sales, you will reach the point where you will feel comfortable with yourself and will not be shy anymore. I am also a shy person, but I try to overcome it with lots of practice. Practice your selling techniques and what you will be saying to potential customers.
