Hi all,
I am new to the forum but not the cleaning industry. I was one of those unfortunate few that joined a franchise. I soon figured out that they provided no real value. Now I am starting out on my own. Oh well, I digress. I am hoping that some one here would be able to offer how they primarily find leads, with the exception of referrals. Is it through cold calls, advertisements? What has been most successful for you?
Thanks for your help.

When I first started (commercial cleaning) I just went to every business and introduced myself along with a card. Then make a return trip the next month just to see how they are doing. Having your vehicle lettered to double as a moving Bill Board helps a lot. When you are slow drive around the businesses or park in front of high traffic areas. If they see your company name alot then they are more apt to remember it when they do need your services. Tip : Don't use cheap business cards printed from your computer. I have raised letter and glossy finish. This along with your dress atire (uniform) and vehicle will be your first shot at standing out from the rest of the competition. Also never leave your estimate on a scrap piece of paper or on back of business card. Use professional proposal carbon copy sheets. At least thats my opinion.
