I am absolutely new to this line of work and ran across some information about "HOW TO START YOUR OWN LUCRATIVE" Window Washing business with little start up fees and it caught my interest.
I also ran across this site and have just spent over 2 hours reading various comments and my gosh this board is wonderful and informative. Thank you all in advance ;-).
NOW, I just don't know where to start, who to call, what to do but I think I'm sold. I would love to hear from any successful business owners or New business owners for I would be most grateful.
I am in Maryland (PG County)
Thank you so much!
Cha

Hi Cha, Welcome to the wonderful world of window washing! Do you know where you want to expertise...residential, commercial, high rise? That would be the first step. Then you would follow the same steps as with any business: Get a business name License (if required in your state) Insurance Business Supplies (forms, cards, etc.) and start advertising. A good article on starting up is www.startcleaning.blogspot.com. It will tell you where to go to get licensing and such. You can also visit my window washing page for more information: www.businessformsstore.com/window_cleaning. Hope this helps and good luck! Stacy

Hi, I am Josh, 22 from California I started my own window washing and janitorial business 6 months ago. I do commercial and residential window's "up to 2 stories" and have had to purchase about $600 worth of equipment. I have been suprised by the easy money, but I get my name out there all the time. I'm pullin new accounts every 2-3 weeks and thats in the winter, I have big expectations for this spring. I live in a rural area with a county of approx. 40,000 and only ma + pa janitorials serving all the window cleaning.
Other than all that I still log in here and absorb the info too. I have gained knowledge of the trade and it has worked successfully.
Good Luck
