No janitorial association or directory in the world can give you enough business for the support of your business. You can learn new ways to market and build your business. Try a local chamber of commerce or business network in your area which has live weekly meetings, where you can actually market your business to people who might purchase your services. Most allow you to attend a free meeting first to see if you like it.

I started a referral group on my own. I checked into BNI but they met early , was very strict on missing meetings and it cost a little more than most I talked to wanted to pay. So I contacted a few people and we wrote up bylaws, had an election and we started going forward. We meet for lunch on first wed each month and supper on third wed each month. We allow each member to miss 12 meetings. That means they only have to come to 12 meetings to remain a member. We charge $120 a year to be a member and only one member per profession allowed in group. We are laid back, socialize and it is a great way to make friends in the business world. We are a small group. Only 10 members now but look and hope to have 30 by end of year. I have had several referrals from the group. In the last 6 months I have done approx. $6000.00 from the referrals of this small group.
It only takes a couple to get it started. you can start by talking to someone that has a nice family type restaurant with a meeting place . They make money right off the bat from the group. In return they can give you discounts on the meals plus a nice place to meet. The restaurant I chose has already used our services to clean their floors. As a non profit group we also can set up tables and promote our business in Local Mall at no charge. That alone would cost me around $200 a day to do on my own. We also helped out the local Rotary Club with Christmas for Needy Kids. You can do a lot with this type club and benefit in far more ways than just making money.
So worse case scenario , you make new friends, you help others. We called our group the Preferred Business Associates.
