One thing we include in all our bids is "remove all high dust and cobwebs" This is the season for spiders coming in out of the cold. Make sure when cleaning your residential and commercial locations to take a look in all the corners, a wand vaccumm does the trick or a extend a duster. Cobwebs and spider webs in the corners really reflects poorly on the cleaning service.

This is also a good business in itself to think about. For example; we have a resturant that has us come in once a month to vaccum all dust/cobwebs on lights , vents, and any other high up fixture. We can reach from 8 ft step ladder. It takes from 5 to 7 1/2 man hours and it pays $290.00 each time. We are hoping to get the whole district. You can also target churches, which usually have a high ceiling, resorts, and so on.

dan, just curious... in the post above do you do that "high dusting" in restaurants w/ 1 or 2 people? we used to do pretty much the exact same service for a pizza chain but they were always late paying so i cancelled services w/ them. it wa a good gig, though... not too dirty. too bad we always had to ask for our money.

I usually send three people, two eight foot step ladders, two hepa canister vacs, one back pack. takes them 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours. We leave an invoice that night and receive a check two weeks later. They want us to come in one night this week and do some cleaning and finishing on there hardwood floors.(New area of cleaning for me). They also have had us clean ceramic tile in dining rooms, strip and wax stock room and are thinking about letting us clean their ceilings and walls in kitchen area. One job leads to another. Its great when you can get add ons.

We get cleaning supplies from international ceiling and wall cleaning (ICWC). We use their solution of enzymes and peroxide(activator). We spray the ceilings with solution and then have two step ladders with two people on them and one person keeping sponges clean. The solution works fast and most grease-nicotine-dust-hand prints wipe off very easy. It is a great money maker but its hard to get clients to spend money on their ceilings. If you can get a demo it is great. Especially if they have health inspection coming up. They usually don't realize how dirty the ceilings are. On acoustical tile you just spray it on and wipe the grids only- with special grid sponges. .25 square foot for acoustical and .40 for solid panels. $5 to $60 for vent covers and $2.50 to $3.50 for light covers.

I talked to Lorne at ICWC today. He is going to check out the IJCSA and see what he thinks. You can check them out at www.icwc.com Let him know this is a good place for him to advertise and that some of you may be interested. A discount would be nice. And if you wouldn't mind tell him you heard about this from Dan at envirostat in TN. on the IJCSA Forum thanks all, Dan There solutions have many uses.
