I place a couple folded paper towels in bottom of trash cans to catch spills from drinks and I place a roll of bags on its side in trash can so I dont have to carry a roll around with me when gathering trash. I dont do this in breakrooms, because there is always a big mess and ruins the bags. I also do this in bathrooms. Anyone else do this??

Do you have a trash can on wheels? I would use one of thoses w/ a caddy holder on the side where you can put things like rolls of trash liners, glass cleaner, duster and other things like that. I wouldn't waste your cash on buying towels to put in the bottom of trash cans. I also don't put extra liners in the bottom of trash cans anymore. in the long run it ends up costing me more. Hope this helps.

Hi Mike, I would love to use one of those there, but there is no place for me to keep it there. No room should I say. The janitors closet only has room for my cart and the janitors closet up front only has room for my mop bucket and other smaller things. You cant leave anything out or it would be gone. I have to put a trash buggy in the hallway and throw the full bags in there then take to dumpster. They have liners they put over top of skids that get shipped out (looks like a huge trash bag) and I do use one of those to put in the buggy also to keep a mess from the bottom of the buggy. They do have one closet I would like to take over lol, but they store their "party supplies" in there They are always calling the janitors closet my office. I told them I would really love a bigger office Linda

I forgot to mention I dont buy the supplies. I only buy the cleaning supplies for this place and they are so use to me doing it this way that when I was working day shift the night shift girl quit doing it and they complained to me. Asked me why there were no extra bags in their can anymore Since I didnt train her, she doesnt do things the way I do, but I would mention it to her. Well, I am back on nights and doing things my way, but they are happy Linda

Linda, not sure what kind of cart you have. Ours has a small platform on the front, mainly for a mop bucket to sit on. We strap a 32 gallon trash can on that platform and dump our trash into it. It works very well for our needs. We also push the cart to the door going out to the dumpstier before removing it. That way there is no drips on the carpeted hallways.

Hi Dan,
Ours is made that way also, but by the time I am finished gathering trash I have around at least 8 big bags so the buggy is really needed up front. Now out in the warehouse that is different. I can use the trash compartment on the back of my cart for all the trash I gather there. I have to keep the mop bucket on the cart, because I use it for the bathrooms. That is the only time I use the cart. I have another mop/bucket up front for the offices and breakrooms only. It is right next to the office area. I would love to find a buggy with a lock on it though so no-one can use it but me and my crew.
