Im bidding on a job that is thru a banking institution. Ive bided smaller and larger jobs but never one with extensive security. The building has 2 baths 5 stalls each. One office will have 6 stations and is roughly 20x30. It also has a shower stall, and 2 smaller offices wich are about 12x12 each. hall ways of vct which need mopped, and buffed at least once a month. hall has about 800 sq feet. any recommendation as to pricing? thanks

We operate in ontario so pricing may be different. Bid it like any other job however, be prepared to go on the low side if it is like the banks here. Expect to include things like vacuum the vault once per month during operating hours, bag the garbage and hold for seven days , date marked and always problems with teller stations.

I only clean a couple of banks, Bill and I have never had one ask me to save the trash for 7 days. Can you please explain to me why this is done? Mike R.

We do the Royal Bank here in Canada, they're a national institution. It is their policy that they save the garbage for 7 days, dated, so if transaction records or any pertinent information falls into the garbage the staff can search through it.

Never heard of keeping the trash. What do you do with the trash for a week? I clean for 3 banks and i take their trash straight out to the dumpster. Alot of times its leaking with pop, coffee and crap that they've dumped into the trash.Even at the teller stations. I couldn't imagine keeping it for a week. Yuck! Do you have to double bag it or what?

Double bag it, special twist tie with date marker on them, put in special garbage room. Hold for a week and throw out on garbage day.

Interesting... The banks I clean are only small branches. There is not very much security. Although you have to watch the clock cause you only have two hours to clean each branch. Then the blue lights come without warning.....lol

I can see where saving the trash could be of benefit. Over the last 7 years we have cleaned a bank that has twice called to see if we still had the trash. They had lost some paperwork. We always throw it away the next mourning. HMMMMM maybe a new idea. Charge for storage facility that will hold all trash for 7 days. As far as the hallway, they are easy to mop and buff. Should be able to do this in less than a hour , depending on type of buffer and how hard hall is to get to. I would say $ 50 to $70 a time to mop and buff.

Do most branch banks pay on a bi-weekly scale or a monthly scale? I am thinking monthly. Also, do you charge extra for buffing or throw that in for free since it is a branch and doesnt take much time?
Thanks, Linda

Monthly, and nothings for free. You can tell them its free, then write the price into the agreement.
They have the money, there a bank.

Thanks, Linda The Banks we do pay monthly, usually with in the first five days of the following month. We also do some very minimum buffing. We just figured that into our bid. We also charge extra for stripping/finishing and carpet cleaning to be done upon their request. We clean the glass doors and drive thru windows regular but charge extra if all windows in banks are to be done. You can do it either way. Figure it into the bid or make it an extra charge.

Thanks all, you have been a huge help as always I tried to place a bid on a bank a little while back and they weren't accepting bids. Recently had a talk with one of the ladies and they have been thru 2 companies in the last couple years. They are not happy with the service so they are allowing me to place a bid. Will be turning it in bright and early tomorrow morning. Thanks again for your help Linda
