We had a safety instructor from our payroll company to put on a safety class for us.He said that if for any reason OSHA just happened to be on one of your work sites and he sees a spray bottle with liquid on your cart or in your supply room it throws up a red flag. For each secondary container( spray bottle , bucket, cup, so on) that has not been labled with what is in that bottle; the cleaning company can be fined $350 for each unmarked container. For your safety, your fellow workers, and all those that may be in the area of your secondary containers , please label them with what is in it. You can use a sharpie or buy bottles already labeled. You can also add more caution words such as danger. You also need an MSDS sheet for any of the products you use in your cleaning business. These have to be readily avalible to all your employees in the event they need them. TRK means the right to know. Your employees have the right to know what they are using. The MSDS sheets will tell you 1. how to store product. 2. what PPE =personal pertective equipment you need and 3. what effects it can have on you and what first aid may be needed.
