I have to an estimate on a home in Dec and could use some help. 8/bd, 5/ba, 3500 sq ft, 4 kids and she has pets. The house has 3 stories but she said just clean the first 2. The third is a play area. She needs baseboards AND laundry done. She said she isn't sure if its going to be weekly or bi-weekly at this point.
I was thinking $130 per visit and $200-250 for initial. How long should it take to do the job. My workers will be paid 8/hr. I was thinking a team of 3 to cost.
Am I on the right track?

$130 sounds too cheap for laundry being included. Will you be just folding and putting away? Staying till all laundry is completed? Better get that part spelled out clearly, you could be there all day trying to finish up laundry for a big family.

The cost for this home would depend on if they want weekly or bi-weekly. Also, I agree with Cleaning Chick about the laundry. If they have tons of laundry every week, your crew will be there most of the day just trying to finish the laundry if you are washing and drying. Even if there are three people in the home cleaning, you can only wash and dry so fast with one machine. You would need to make a full days pay on this one home alone. We don't offer laundry services because of the time involved and because so much of the clothing these days requires special washing and drying. I don't want to be respsonsible for damaging anyones clothing. Patti

i agree about the laundry as well. since one 130 is too cheap should I go to 200 or higher? if thats the case the initial cleaning should be more as well, correct?

If it were me, I would clean the home for a set price, and do the laundry at an hourly price, at least for a while until you have a good idea on how much time it will take up.

she decided to do the laundry herself. I'm thinking 150 wkly, and maybe 230 initial. Thoughts?
