I know some companies charge by the hour, but I have always charged by the home. I can look at a home and tell how many hours it is going to take to clean and base my quote on that. Also we require payment at time of service and if we charged by the hour we would have to bill the customer because they wouldn't know how long we will be there on any given day. I think most clients like the fact that they will pay the same each visit (unless we perform add on services). Patti

I agree with you Patti. I do it by the home but sometimes i don't figure the right time it takes to clean(like the bigger ones) or to bid them right(live and learn process here).

I charge by the home. I've under estimated acouple homes but am getting the hang of it now. I feel like I am cheating myself when I go to clean a house I've already underestimated, but then I'm afraid if I raise the price I'll loose them.

Actual charge on the invoice is "per cleaning".... always the same amount. We figure just like you Patti, look at a place then figure how long it will take, multiply that by hourly charge and give one charge to the customer.
