As for right now, I get paid daily either by check or sometimes cash. Of course, I'm the only one doing the work. When I do start hiring help, do I tell my clients to start mailing me a payment? I had a friend help me for a few months, once, and the check was always right there in plain view. She knew what I was making, and she was only getting $7.00 an hr. to help. She seemed to be ok with it though. How do you handle collecting payment?

You can Start Hiring Help when you feel you have already a Work Overload on Daily Basis Weekly Monthly.Which besides attending to Sales Marketing Advertising Purchasing Managing Handling Etc. and Most important is Family Time and going to Church and Networking with IJCSA.
For Residential Accounts or One Time Cleans they will still pay you Either a One Time Cash or Check. We have a Policy of Net 15 days Payments with a 1.5% Interest for Late Payments or 30 Days Payments with a 1.5% interest on late Payments. This will Depend on your Contracts or Bids for Residential or Commercial Accounts. Mailing are appropriate for these.

As I've said, there will be times your Clients gonna pay you with Cash or Check. You cant Avoid this for Small Amounts. But for Biggger Accounts its always Best that they Mail the Checks. Your biggest Question though your Friend might say Look your making a Lot and your just giving me $7. Well to be Honest with you I use to think that way. But I have Expenses to pay to you know i.e Insurance,Gas,Papers, envelopes,Marketing Sales, telephone, internet provider, cleaning materials, chemicals, etc. The list goes on and on. Dont Worry about it.If they dont like it Move On Hire Somebody. As you grow bigger give them a raise which you think they deserve. These are the Things that Comes on Owning your Own Business. There will be a lot more Ahead. All depends on how you Manage. Just keep Posting if you Need Help there are Lots of Experienced and Stable Business owners in these Forum. And We are here to Help in any Way we Can.

I agree with giving your clients envelopes with your company name. That's the best way to keep employees from knowing what you are making. This is what most cleaning services do. Of course you will have the clients who forget to put the check in the envelope and just leave it on the counter. Patti
