Has anyone taken out a loan to start their business? If so, what kind of things did you spend the money on? I have thought about approaching the SBA for a loan to get Sherri some things like insurance, and a backpack vacuum, and whateverelse ehe might need for the business. I can't imagine her needing an exorbitant amount of money. But starting a business off in debt, (although it's the American way LOL) is not my idea of perfect wisdom either.

i never took out a loan to start my business. you may want to consider it, though, depending on your financial situation. when starting a business of any kind, the start-up tools will of course depend on the services you are planning to offer. i suggest that you both write out a business plan and decide the services you intend to offer. after this is done, educate yourselves on the procedures on doing the particular services you intend to offer and then you will have a better idea of the tools needed to do specific applications. also, about the loan.......REMEMBER that most cleaning companies never even make it through three years of business. the rate of failure is very high. when thinking about the services you intend to offer, do a market analysis and figure the rate of saturation for the specialized cleaning services already being offered in your area. this way you can tell what the needs are of your potential clients in your area. hope this helps. ONE MORE THING: it is a good idea to have your legal documents already set up before you start your cleaning company. things like a service agreement, change order form, commercial cleaning specs....ect. a first impression on a client CAN GO A LONG WAY. if you don't have the proper forms..... you will look like an idiot...(in my opinion)if i had all this stuff ready when i started, i would be sitting a lot more pretty now.... surviving though.....STILL.
