we are working on a post construction clean up. It is turning out to be a real nightmare. It is a Texas Roadhouse resturant with four walk in refrigerators. Nonslip tile in the refrigerators, on the kitchen floor and the bar area. The kitchen is 3,000 square feet. Part of the dining room is sealed concrete part is wood flooring. The walls are rough cedar, sealed and corragated tin.
Of course, even though we were promised that construction would be completed before we started cleaning, we have been working around the electricians for two day now. As soon as we clean and polish the stainless steel counters. They are standing on them to work on the wiring. OH I forgot to mention, lots and lots of stainless steel!
The construction workers were extremely messy. The tile has concrete grout, caulking and adhesive all over it. We are currently using a pressure washer with a floor and deck attachement. This non-slip tile is so rough, it can't be mopped. The mop shreds and the fibers stick to the floor.
Any suggestions on a better/faster method of cleaning these floors? There are numerous floor drains so we can use lots of water without having any problems.
The sealed concrete flooring is black and covered with dust. We are really haveing a problem with dust resettling on everything after we clean it.
The manager stopped by today, (just want to mention the manager did not hire us, the contractor did). The contractor went out of town for the weekend. Manger said he wanted the bar cleaned and the floor mopped behind the bar, because they will be hooking up the beer coolers tomorrow. Doesn't that man realize---after those workers hook up those beer coolers, the floors and stainless steel won't look like we did anything to them!
OH the frustration. Luckily we did put it into the contract that they will be charged extra for repeat cleanings due to the construction still going on. I did have the good sense, after the electricians stepped on the clean counters a few times, to cover all the clean surfaces with paper sheeting.
Really, I venting here, but if anyone has any experience with after construction clean up of non-slip tile, I would appreciate some help here.
Thanks in advance'
