I am not a big fan of Castleguard even though we have been asked to use it in a couple of schools. Buckeye has sold them on dispensing systems and then gone after the total package. I find that it is high solids but has poor layering agents. Little work time on the floor and tendency to leave lines if you try to lay thin coats. I have not experienced what you describe. It almost sounds like the floor has not been rinsed thoroughly after stripping and/or neutralized. Stripper still on the floor and reactivated when finish laid down. What type of floor are you laying the finish down on?

I have used buckeye castle guard and always had great results. It got so expensive I had to change brands. I never saw what you are describing. I have saw the rough texture fininsh from drying to fast or putting on to heavy. How is the humidity level in room? If floor was stripped right and the finish is good there might be a moisture problem in floor. What color in tile? Did Buckeye give any explanation. You might want to call their chemist in Missouri. Was it possible the finish had been frozen?

I have seen what you described from applying finish too heavy but never used the finish you described.

We, Layed four deferent wax's on my vender's show room floor , and the only way we could get a shine out of buckeyes wax was to let it set for over 24hrs and deep scrub it and put 3 more coats total of 8 coats the floor should look like glass but it don't .We did a strip and wax layed one coat of sealer and three wax (pioneer) the floor looked like glass on another job so I'm never buying any more buckeye product because they don't stand behind it, They got kick out town about six years ago because of the same problem wouldn't stand behind there product (bad wax) and my vendor is drooping the line

I use to use Buckeye. Never had any bad experience but they did price theirself out of my market. I started using Beco. Better price and great product. The Hybird 25 is a good finish if you have a maintenance program to buff.I tried the pioneer but could never get results I wanted. May not have tried same thing. What type of pioneer finish and sealer did you use? Is it holding up well?

I usually put on four coats, but every know and then a customer will request five. Of course at an extra charge. I was called to bid on a large drug store the other day, they had a spec sheet. They wanted strip and wax using 8 coats. and then they wanted it scrubbed once a month and two more coats put on each month. It does not have a lot of traffic on floor. Explained to them that this was not normal procedure. I did not bid on it by their specs. Haven't heard back from them.

Whew! We use buckeye and have never had a problem (500+floors) I use buckeye ripsaw to strip and buckeye castleguard wax, 3 coats and 20 min dry time between. I have heard that if it gets cold problems could occur, but the coldest thing in Louisiana a 12 oz Dixie Beer.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Any way the pioneer products We use are Formula X Stripper its as good if not better than Rip-Saw Strip a floor that hasn't been striped in five years with a coat of wax every month for five years but it striped off in one pass My crew don't want to use any thing but X to strip with and the've used rip-saw in the past then we use Envirostar Sealer, Equinox wax and dimond shine wax it depends on the job and we use Rebound Nu. cleaner restore and We have had great luck with this program floors are looking great. over here in ca. the wax is garbage I'm loking into west coast cem.
