Do most cleaning business owners have a preferred type/brand they go with when it comes to machines such as commercial carpet cleaners, burnishers, extractors, pressure washers, etc.?
If you happen to have personal beliefs about even just one of the above, please share your thoughts/experience.
And lastly, what would be a general rental rate, for example, for a commercial carpet cleaning machine?
Thanks,
Chris

We all have our favorites. I would say in general many commercial services and residential have a wide variety of equipment and name brands. Some services with experience have come adjusted to only buying one brand, while some also mix and match.

I have limited experience here but have had the opportunity to rent two different brands of floor maintainers. Both were slow speed (175rpm) rotary machines. I can't remember off hand the first brand, will check the next time I am near the rental place I got it. But due to some bad service i switched rental agencys and the second one uses Powr-Flite as their brand. The Powr-Flite machine by far worked better thatn the other machine. It was comfortable to work with, gave me no problems, and was an overall good experience.

Almost all of our EQ in from windsor or tennant. The only exceptions are kaivac, tymco sweeper, our TM's, and us products cobra 500 exctractor's. We have bought some other brands like CFR, usually we return or archive those machines. I would be most concerned about the carpet extractors you use, most of them fall short in my opinion.

I own a boxxer 421 truck mount carpet cleaner. Love it. Simple and Powerful. You might check to see if there is an Interlinksupply store in your area. They rent commercial portables, dehumidifiers, ozone generaters, blowers and so on. Also have some great classes.

We use mostly Tennant. Burnishers, Auto scrubbers, Backpack vacs, Extractor, Squeegee Vac etc. The only reason is when we first started I walked into our local distributor for the first time and they helped me load over 3,00.00 worth of equipment in my van with no credit check or signature and I was told I could split it over 5 months. I paid them off in less than 30 days and do almost all of my equipment purchases from them. They didn't know if I was credit worthy only look at me and asked a few questions and said a hand shake was good enough for them. We've bought over 45,000.00 worth of equipment before the storm and paid them in 30 days or less. I went to another distributor that sold another line of equipment and we had to wait 3 days for all of the paper work to be processed. That was before the Hurricane I can't tell you how much equipment or product we've bought since. But it's all bought and paid for. When ever I have a problem even on Christmas day I can call my rep and if he can't walk me through it he will come to wherever we are and try and help. I did call him on Christmas morning but He helped me on the phone.
But we do have some other brands, Sanitare, Ninja, Power Flite and Advance
