I have a lady that wants ironing only. What would be a good hourly rate? She says she is looking to pay around $12/hr. I'm thinking $14/hr but I'm looking for other opinions. Hourly minimum? Suggestions? Employee would be paid $8.

I don't iron anymore but we did years ago. We charged by the piece at that time. I think it was like .40 a piece, Not sure. But if they pay by the piece they will not expect you to do to much in an hours time. If they think you are doing to much in an hour they will probably not have you iron as much. Find out what the dry cleaners charge for a piece so that it might help you in deciding an amount. You may make a lot more in an hour and still save them lots of money. You could also pay your employee by the piece of each satisfied garment as long as it is equal to or higher than minimum wage. Just a thought. Again this is not a field that I am active in and other advices may be better.
