hello i am new to this site my name is misty and i live in thomasville nc i clean homes and my business is called sparkle and shine cleaning my mother helps me clean and i pay her half of the amount i charge and she helps me pay half for everything like cleaning supplies and advertizing ect. i know alot of people dont charge by the room but i do and thats how i want to keep doing it but what is a fair price i should charge for each room? for a basic cleaning that is done on a regular basics

Just more professional that way. The only thing we charge 'by the room/area' for is carpet cleaning (heat extraction). BTW, WELCOME to the IJCSA Forum! Misty,
You may be more comfortable with calculating it by charging by the room when you first start out but soon or later you will find that you are really charging less than your time and effort. Go to the "pricing by the room" ..it should help you. Also, your county should have a web site that you can input someone's address and get an idea of the sq ft of the home even before you get there..so your prepared to give an decent quote that is accepted. I started like you did and I still use it as a guideline when someone is talking to me in passiing but i always convert it into sq ft and level of dirt, family traffic, etc...
