When I took over the family business, the first thing I did was re-configured the route, based on their location from the office and each other so I drove one complete circle each day. Even though most had been recieving their service on a particular day for the last 23 years, I found that almost all of them agreed to the change and those who didn't I offered a coupon. This decreased our mileage by 20%
Also we are building a hydrogen cell for the van, mostly out of pvc and wire, it connects to your air filter in your car so it is not invasive at all.
We are looking at an increase of double our mileage... I will keep you guys updated. My husband found the plans for free and it is so easy to build, my hubby's modifications still kept the cost under $50
