I need help in bidding a new job...we have a move in move out residential cleaning service but I have a real estate friend that needs help with a client before she lists her home..She wants us to organize and clean her house so she can list it and then clean it weekly until it sells...the house is 3000 sq ft and we are in Houston Texas..We were thinking $35/hr the first cleaning would be about 4-5 hrs. and then $75-80 weekly. Thanks

How many in your cleaning team is going to be cleaning this? I was thinking it would take longer than 4-5 hours to clean a 3000 sqft home, but it depends on if your cleaning alone or with another person or people.
I would be a bit higher on the weekly clean. Not sure how many bedrooms or baths there is and what kind of flooring their is,but i would be more around maybe $100-105.
Is she still gonna be living in the home till it sells? That would be a big factor as well. If its not going to be occupied, then $75-80 would be fair.

For reference, I cleaned a house today that is 2300 sq. feet. It was myself and one other person and we cleaned our butt's off for 4 1/2 hours. This was an initial clean, and we now have the weekly service. We are chargnig $85 a week for this house, and she has no problem paying that. The initial clean, we did for the same price, but wished we charged her at least $120 because it took so long.
Going forward, on a weekly basis, we should only take about 2 - 2 1/2 hours for this house weekly with 2 people.
I think that the house you speak of, being 700 sq. feet bigger, and having to organize as well... will take you at least 6 hours unless you but corners. I tend to charge $10 per person, per hour, plus markup for overhead and expenses.
Thanks, David

Hi My husband and I cleaned a home in our subdivision that is 3500 square feet. It took us 5.5 hours for the initial clean, however that did not include windows. I don't know if it helped that our home is the same floor plan, that we got out of there in this time or not. And we clean it bi-weekly for $105.00. -Angela
