I am considering changing my business name from 2Sisterz Janitorial to 2Sisterz Cleaning Service. Would like some feedback on this and also was wondering if anyone knew about how much this may cost.
Thanks, Linda

I like 2SISTERZ Cleaning Service better than Janitorial. Unless you was into commercial work and looking for commercial accounts, then i think keeping janitorial would fit. Cleaning service makes your business seem broader than just janitorial work. Cleaning Service covers all areas of cleaning. Just my opinion. To change the name file a form called Form 524 which is a name registration update form. I had to pay $25 when i filed mine. Its through the secretary of state. Same place you registered your business. I made any changes that had been made to my business on this form. You use this to change business name or to change ownership also. www.sos.state.oh.us/SOSApps/Forms/Form.aspx?return=%2fSOSApps%2fSOS%2fFormRefBS.aspx&type=BusinessServices&code=524You can find the form under "obtain filing forms" under business/corporation,go done the list of forms till you fins form 524,download it,fill it out and send it along with $25 to the secretary of state

I called and the lady told me I would have to cancel my business name and re-register a new one I think I will go online and try to do the update instead. I am pretty sure she said to use form 524. If I have to cancel then it will cost $50.00 instead of $25.00 Will give it a try and see Thanks, Linda

Linda I like 2Sisterz Cleaning Service a lot better, especially if you are going to get into more residential. I think when people hear janitorial they automatically think commercial cleaning only. Patti

I believe this is what I am going to do. It is too hard for me to concentrate on so many things at one time I need to put my time into getting everything together and going good for myself, before I try something else. I want to concentrate on homes and windows since the two have to do with each other. If I can do an update then I will do it now, but if I have to cancel and re-do then it will be a couple weeks. I start day shift Monday so I will be off work at noon each day. This will give me so much more extra time to really get down to it I have got to put alot more time into getting myself out there. Thanks, Linda

Linda I'm with you on this one. I chose the name BOSS Janitorial & Cleaning Services, but like you really want to take out the Cleaning but not sure if I should. I do clean one office and we do over 11 apartment complexes so I guess that is Janitorial. I don't know. Like you, I'm up in the air. In CA the cost would be to abandon the fic. bus name and start the new one. However, changes to uniforms, business cards, letter head, brochures, forms and documents you've created, etc. would also result in additional costs. I'm kind of leaning towards keeping it janitorial now that I think about it I don't have the time to make all those changes. -Angela

After coming up with my company name;( EnviroStat) , I realized that people didn't know what I did. Instead of changing the name I simply added a line to all Adds, Letter heads, Business Cards, Invoices. Now it says EnviroStat Professional Cleaning Service without changing My Company Name. Example ,
2Sister Janitorial "Professional Cleaning Service. " [/i]

Dan we were thinking the same thing. Our name is so long Earley Complete Building Services, we started just saying ECBS everywhere & people were like " who what was that , what do you do?" I just started calling ourselves ECBS Clean Team. I like the word Team in the name. I wont change it officially & we do have a Clean Team Inc. in the tri-county area but I like so I am giving it a try.

I agree with the Service and not crew. Crew seems to me to be too informal.
