My husband and I have owned a residential/commercial cleaning company for many years and have thrown away much income over the years by saying, "We don't do windows". So this year, after endless hours of practicing we started offering window cleaning to our customers of easy to clean, smaller ranch style or split-level type homes for starters. No problem here, everything is working fine. Now we are starting to get inquiries from our customers in the 4500 to 8000 sq. ft range and am in need of some pricing advice. Need to quote on this 5000 sq. ft. house. here is a link to a photo of the front of the house: i50.photobucket.com/albums/f324/thepolishedlook/1.jpgAll glass inside & outside Clean all screens Clean all sills Fairly easy access for ladder & roof work - No big obstructions inside or outside to deal with. Windows, screens, & sills are extremely filthy and has not been cleaned in many, many years. Ground floor: 25 windows consisting mostly of french/sectional with 15 or 18 panes per window. 2 sliding patio/deck doors & 2 glass entrance doors. 25 screens. Second floor: 28 windows consisting mostly of french/sectional with 15 or 18 panes per window. 1 sliding patio/deck door, 1 glass entrance door and 2 sky lights. 26 screens I am not experienced enough at this point to even guess at how long this would take, nor are we fast enough to quote on a time basis. I have tried a couple different ways to quote this but the range is fairly wide. I get a range of around $307 to $525. Any ideas or advice is appreciated. Thanks!

This is one of those jobs that if you got for $525 you probably would wish you hadn't. With all the french windows/ pain? and cleaning all the screens and sills I would guess that I would be around a thousand dollars in my area maybe more if I saw it in person. If you think that might scare them then do them for $995. Sounds a little better.

Are those french style windows with the framing inside the glass? Kinda looks that way to me. Would be around $300 in Detroit.

No - the framing is on the outside.

Ok, now if wood and painted there a real pain in the butt, seems like everyone I ever did the paint loosens and drips down, takes several drying efforts. If they are vinyl still a pain, but manageable.

i know this is a late reply but in my area of california we can get about 550 for that... that is on the lower side.
If it was straight windows without sections, I would say 349
Here is what our current price list is inside and outside $5 for small-med windows (standard sizes etc) $8 for large, patio sliders, specialty multi paned glass, and ladder work
It's pretty straight forward.
But we have alot of guys who come in and do $75 commercial jobs for $10 and then quit or never show. So you have to really sell your company and its longevity. In this economy I would even consider having it done for $10... you know
