Would like to incorporate my cleaning business. I need an attorney to explain the do's and dont's.
how much should it cost? If I hire 1 or 2 people do I need worker comp. questions of that nature. I've been cleaning over ten years, but doing the work myself as a sole-proprietor. I live in the NY area.

My thoughts are no attorney is needed if you have the time to read through the state website. I incorporated 2 days ago online, it was quite easy, cost me $170. First search to make sure the name is available, then fill out the form. Within 24 hours you get confirmation.

Thanks for the info. It cost me a little more than you. I incorporated Oct. 2 I'm a little nervous about making this move. You see I've been a sole-proprietor for 10 years now, and work a full time job with the city, but working this business like a 2nd job is not working. I need to hire people. As a sole proprietor I could transfer mortgage money from business account to personal account.....not any more. I still love this business and will build it up. I'm in the Long Island area and Bkrooklyn, Queens area. 3 accounts. 1000 a month, 800 month, 700 a month.

I want to make my cleaning service into a LLC. I currently have the name can you keep the same name or do I have to change it. I guess it will be easier to get a lawyer but I just don't have the money. We just hired 2 employees this week and had to get worker's comp and get bonded.

So please help

I recently Formed an LLC. this month and I went thru LEGALZOOM.com and they were great.
