Some friends of mine are carpet cleaners. They recently did a commercial location that I had recommended them to service. After extracting the carpet there started to appear bubbles in the carpet. This carpet is about 7 yrs old it is a thin type carpet that has been glued down to a concrete floor. What in the world would cause bubbles?

Water and heat which expands the carpet and then detergent that is still in the carpet, can keep it from shrinking back to size. More than likely it will go back to normal once fully drying.
