Hi everybody, Happy 4th of July. I received an E-mail from a guy that is out of the Country right now. He's an artist and wants me to clean his house while he's here in the States for 2 months. The part I don't like is that he wants to pay me $35.00 an hour. I'm to figure the total for 2 months. His partner is going to send me a lump sum of money through a check or money order. I'm suppose to take out my share, then wire him the remaining through western union so he can get this belonging back to the states. Has anybody ever came across anything like this before? I just have a bad feeling about it. Thanks for advice in advance, Carla www.alwaysspotlesscleaning.com

Hey Carla. This is a scam. Run, do not walk to the hearest exit. Had this happen to me last year. Slightly different story (He was in Ireland and buying a home here) but the same outcome. Basically I didn't figure it out until I got the money order written on an account of some bank in Florida. I called the bank and they told me it was a scam. Since then, this type of scam has been quite common. I think there may even be a thread to this discussion somehwere here. Bottom line: It's a scam. Go enjoy your holiday. : )

Yeah, it's a scam. Anytime they ask you to send money back that is a red flag. What happens is the bank cashes it, then 2 weeks later you get a notice from the bank saying the check did not clear and you have to return the money. It has been on the news for a couple of years now. So sad how low people go.
