Can I get advise on cleaning a commercial carpet - the kind that is glued down? I don't know if I should use a regular carpet cleaner - does the water loosen the glue under the carpet?

We have done lots of glued carpet (commercial no padding) Never had a problem, when I first did one though I was a little nervous when I saw it bubble a bit. But it went right back to normal. Are you using portable or truck mounted?

yes it does tend to bubble a bit,but will always return to normal.you will not loosen glue,the only real chance of that happening is if you were to clean using steam.But using a hot water extraction cleaner either portable or truckmount will not cause you any problems.

Glued Down Carpets:
I have Cleaned a lot of Glued Down Carpets. There are a lot of Problems that you can run into while cleaning this type of Carpets. There are lots of Specific Problem Categories that you can run into. Basics are:
If using a truck mount ;
Adjust the water Flow in PSI. Water will will go down in Carpets and will evaporate including dirt in Concrete or any sub floor. We do know how Clean the Sub floors are. Regulate of Water Flow or Steam.
Using Portables;
200-300 PSI are the best to in Cleaning Glued Down. 180 Water Lift and 160 deg- 200 deg of Hot Water. Pre-Spray the Area and an Even Stroke of Wand. There may be Spots that cant be taken off by strokes if your wearing rubber shoes rub it with sole of your shoe until becomes lighter then just lightly extract.
